Festival Adjudicating & Clinics

Napoli enjoyed serving as an adjudicator & clinician for many Choral Festivals while teaching in Maryland, including at Montgomery County’s Choral and Chamber Choral Festivals. At Montgomery County’s festivals, Robby rotated with other adjudicators as a clinician, working with choirs from a wide range of choral programs, from unauditioned choirs and auditioned choirs, some regarded as the best in the state.

In-School Residencies

Robby has also been invited into multiple classrooms & rehearsal rooms to workshop with secondary choirs & adult community choirs. He’s led a variety of activities from typical rehearsal workshops to group beatboxing lessons, and more!

One advantage to being both a classroom teacher and the conductor of a professional choral ensemble is the ability to bring those talented colleagues into the classroom! While at Chesapeake High School, Napoli organized in-class workshops in which Lux members led sectionals with his high school students before combining and singing alongside the students in a full-group rehearsal.

Collaborative Concerts

On top of in-school residencies, Napoli has also organized & hosted larger-scale workshop events culminating in collaborative concerts. In February 2024, Napoli and Lux held a day of workshops for local school choirs. That evening, Lux presented a public concert showcasing each participating choir, during which Lux also performed alone and alongside the students.

In May 2024, Robby also planned & executed Anne Arundel County’s first A Cappella Festival. The festival brought in Christopher Diaz & Michael Brisentine, who led interest sessions and workshops for the participating high school groups. That evening, groups performed in a showcase featuring Towson University’s Off Track, and ending with a combined group piece for all participating students.

Online Programming

In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, many teachers were in need of additional online resources to continue giving their students the phenomenal choral education experience they deserve. In response to that need, Napoli created and produced Lux’s Educational Miniseries, which has garnered nearly 30,000 views. This online educational series included a sequential video series focused on texture. He also organized a combined virtual choir combining the choirs of Chesapeake, Clarksburg, & Walt Whitman High Schools alongside Lux’s artists.
